Tools for Grouphead Rebuild
Bruce Colglazier Pappas
Tools and supplies recommended to rebuild grouphead and steam wand - Gen3 Pro (Millennium Professional):
- 10 mm wrench (box preferred) to remove group head bolts and steam wand assembly [Amazon]
- Hook and pick set for removing gaskets [Amazon]
- Retaining ring pliers to replace piston shaft gasket [Amazon]
- Sleeve removal bar to remove Millennium Teflon sleeve (if you're replacing it) [Stefano]
- Adjustable socket wrench to turn the sleeve removal bar (#4 above) [Amazon] -or- this [Stefano]
- 1/8” drive pin punch to remove rolled steel pin from knob [Amazon]. A cut nail will also work.
- 14 mm wrench (box or socket preferred) to remove cap nut from threaded piston pin [Amazon]
- Food grade lubricant [Amazon] -or- this [Stefano]
- Detergent for soaking parts to remove coffee residue [Stefano]
- Descaler for fill tube and boiler [Amazon]
All these tools and supplies are not required, aside the retaining ring pliers and lubricant. But this is what I used and they made the job easier.
NOTE: The links here are provided as references. I do not profit from, nor am I connected financially to, Amazon or EspressoCare (Stefano).
